About Me

I was born and raised on Vancouver Island and, though my training and varied experiences have taken me to many different provinces and countries, this is where my heart is at peace. I find the natural environment to be incredibly healing, and take every opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with my young family. Where helpful, I also seek to incorporate elements of nature into my work with clients.

I have been engaged in the social service sector since 2008 and have gained experience within a variety of contexts, such as community development, child advocacy, residential child protection, therapeutic retreats, mental health facilities, and community based mental health support. I returned to the area in 2014 and am currently seeing new clients who are hoping to bring about change in their lives. My particular areas of interest and expertise include working with those experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, grief and loss, stress and weight challenges.

My decision to pursue clinical social work has been formed by my desire to work to generate positive change in the world around me. I have focused my training and professional development in the area of counselling due to my own experiences of improved quality of life following individual counselling. This experience, enhanced by my subsequent professional experiences, has instilled me with a persistent belief in the human capacity to make meaning out of suffering, to find purpose, and to generate positive changes in their lives.

I take great joy in seeing the positive changes experienced by those with whom I work, and I look forward to taking these next steps in your journey with you!
